Cambiaso out of Inter’s clash while Savona set for exit

As Nottingham Forest are set to sign another Juventus player, Andrea Cambiaso has been ruled out of the Italian derby against Inter Milan.

The attacker has been handed a two-game ban due to violent conduct after his side’s 2-0 victory over Parma in the opening round of 2025-26 Serie A fixtures.

The Italian international got the marching orders in the dying minute of the game over an elbow on Parma defender Mathias Fjørtoft Løvik after the pair challenged for a header on the touchline.

The league management has confirmed his two-match suspension, meaning he will be unavailable for Juventus’s upcoming Serie A match against his hometown team, Genoa, and will also be ruled out of the Derby d’Italia against rivals Inter after the international break.

Cambiaso will be available for selection for the international fixtures should he be called up to Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy national team squad, as the ban doesn’t affect international fixtures.

Sassuolo midfielder Ismael Kone will also be out for a game after being shown two yellow cards before a red card during the first round of Serie A fixtures, in an eventual 2-0 loss against Antonio Conte’s Napoli.

According to reports in the Italian media, Juventus could sell Nicolo Savona before the end of the summer transfer window.

This follows a report from Football Italia, which confirmed that the Bianconeri received a €12m bid from Premier League side Nottingham Forest for the 22-year-old full-back.

Lorenzo Lepore of SportItalia had on Tuesday afternoon claimed that Forest submitted a €12m offer to sign Juventus Next Gen graduate Savona following his first full season in Serie A last term.

As discussions continue between the two parties, negotiations have not yet been finalised. The situation is being closely monitored because there is still a possibility that a final agreement will be found in the near future.

Savona, a Juventus academy graduate, got promoted to the first-team set-up under Thiago Motta last term and went on to make 28 appearances in Serie A.

He was not part of the squad for Juve’s opening match of the 2025-26 season: A 2-0 victory over Parma at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday, due to an injury he picked up against Manchester City at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer.
