Boateng has been consistent player for the Bavarians ever since he joined the club. He joined Bayern Munich in 2011, after spending one season with Manchester City. His injury would also mean that Boateng won’t be called up to play for Germany in the latest international break. He has made over 70 appearances and represented Germany at UEFA Euro 2012, Euro 2016, 2010 World Cup, 2014 World Cup, and 2018 World Cup. He played a crucial role in his country’s victory in the 2014 World Cup. He is the younger half-brother of Ghanaian footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng.
