Date: Thursday, 12 December, 2019.
Kick-off Time: 8:00 PM
Venue: Borussia Park Monchengladbach, Germany.
Today, we take a look at Bundesliga table-toppers Borussia Monchengladbach, who will be hosting Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir in tonight’s match.
Gladbach has been very impressive in their recent matches, with home advantage working in their favour lately. Istanbul Basaksehir is likely to taste their defeat at the hands of the German side tonight.
Monchengladbach has enjoyed back to back wins in Group J after they defeated Wolfsberger at their turf with a 1-0 win despite losing 4-0 to the same team in the reverse fixture.
A lot of credit needs to be given to the German side as they have been brilliant lately by beating the mighty Bayern Munich 2-1 just of recent. They have lost only once in their last seven matches in all competitions. And boasting of eight points so far in Group J, they are currently in contention to top the group.
Basaksehir, on the other hand, continues their woes in Europe as they lost to the Italian side Roma at home 3-0. The Italian side dominated proceedings on their turf and limited them to few shots on target. They may be only a point behind Gladbach, but there are still a lot of twists to the group standings against the likes of a Gladbach and Roma.
In conclusion, the host has been an absolute threat to teams and have been racking up goals at home, scoring two goals or more in each of their past seven games in all competitions. It is a general feeling and based on facts that Gladbach will nick a win over Basaksehir tonight.
Borussia Monchengladbach 2- 0 Istanbul Basaksehir
Borussia Monchengladbach is priced at 1.37 to win, while Istanbul is given 8.38 to win the game.
