Two of the Best Manchester United Forwards of All-Time

Who are the best Manchester United strikers of all-time? Many names come to mind, for example the likes of Wayne Rooney, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Eric Cantona, Mark Hughes, to name a few. We can’t make a list without Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Andy Cole though.

So here we look at these two players and why they deserve to be part of this list

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 150 Goals for Manchester United

Current Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a super sub for Manchester U. He arrived to Old Trafford amidst little fanfare but became one of the most loved players in team history.

Solskjaer was known as the super sub because Sir Alex Ferguson often unleashed him off the bench whenever Manchester United needed help on offense and the Norwegian always delivered.

His winning goal in the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final as probably the most historic goal ever for Manchester United, as they were trailing by one goal against Bayern Munich for the most of the game and two goals from Teddy Sheringham and Solskjaer sealed the come-from-behind win and the famous treble for Man U.

Andy Cole: 124 Goals for Manchester United

Five Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League title speak for themselves. Cole was signed from Newcastle United in 1995 and went on to become one of the most prolific goal scorers for the Red Devils.

He formed a deadly duo with Dwight Yorke. Cole and Yorke were among the highlights of the 1998-99 season when Manchester United went on to win the previously mentioned treble after their miraculous effort against Bayern Munich. Cole also helped Man U secure a double in the 1995-96 campaign.
