Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez has moved to Premier League club Bournemouth on a long term and for an undisclosed price from Dutch Eredivisie team AZ Alkmaar.
The Cherries revealed this in a statement on Thursday as the nineteen-year-old became their third summer signing after the signings of Dutch forward Justin Kluivert, 24, from Roma, and Lyon midfielder Romain Faivre, also 24.
AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake in a statement on Thursday, said that the player has huge potential and that the club is lucky to have him on their list due to the fact that he was on the radar of a lot of club sides in Europe and that they believe that he will add more quality to the club.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Milos, a talented young player with a great deal of potential. He was being tracked by a number of clubs in Europe but was very keen to join us after hearing about our plans and ambitions for the future. An athletic and attacking full-back, Milos will be an excellent addition to our exciting squad, and we are looking forward to working with him.” AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said.
Kerkez joined AZ Alkmaar in January 2022 at AC Milan Youth Academy and made over 50 appearances for the club. He even helped them to the semi-final of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, where they lost to eventual winners West Ham United.
After pre-season games against Hibernian FC and Maccabi Tel Aviv where they won the former 4-0 and lost the latter by a single goal to nil. The Cherries will play their next pre-season game next Tuesday against Southampton and another against Atlanta next week.
They would have another pre-season tie against FC Lorient in the first week of August ahead of their first Premier League game of the season against West Ham United.
