Manchester United brilliant at Merseyside with win against Everton

Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho scored a spectacular strike as the Red Devils left Goodison Park with three goals and three points in a 3-0 win.

The Red Devils continue to improve on their start to the season to reduce the point gap between themselves and the table toppers Arsenal to 6 points.

United’s last game before the international break was a 1-0 win at home to Luton Town, and they resumed after the international break on fire as Argentinian youngster Alejandro Garnacho scored a screamer just three minutes into the game to set the tempo for Erik Ten Hag’s side.

The score read 2-0 in the second half when Marcus Rashford scored from the penalty spot in the 56th minute.

French forward Anthony Martial made it 3-0 in the 75th minute as Manchester United ran out winners against the Toffees, whose impressive run of three wins and a draw in their last four in all competitions comes to an end.

Manchester United jumps to sixth on the table with 24 points from 13 games played; the Red Devils are two points away from the European places and six points away from table-topping Arsenal, who defeated Brentford on Saturday 1-0 to take advantage of Manchester City 1-1 draw with Liverpool earlier on Saturday.

Meanwhile, despite what looks like an easy win, Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes says it was a difficult task to play against Everton.

“It is always tough to play against Everton. A really tough team – they have good players on the ball, but I think our performance was good at stages. We needed to play at moments a bit more like the first 20 minutes in the first half.” Bruno Fernandes said.

Everton’s ten points sanctioned from the English FA during the week means that they are 19th on the table with only four points from 13 games and will need to start winning matches in a bid to avoid the drop.
