Brazilian World Cup winner Rivaldo feels that PSG will be a great challenge for Manchester City

Manchester City’s dreams of winning the quadruple this season ended with their slender defeat against Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinals as Hakim Ziyech scored the solitary goal. While people have criticised Pep Guardiola for his wholesale changes in the starting lineup, some people have completely different opinions on the team altogether.

Brazilian legendary footballer Rivaldo recently claimed that Manchester City will struggle against Paris Saint Germain who are City’s opponents in the UEFA Champions League semi finals this season. He also said that Pep Guardiola’s Champions League dream will come to a crashing end in the semis.

Rivaldo was in interaction with Betfair where he spoke about how PSG are well settled and will beat Manchester City just like Chelsea defeated them.

He said: “The Champions League might be the toughest of them all with PSG in the semi-final being a great challenge, as the French club were finalists last season and this season they have already eliminated Barcelona and Bayern Munich.”

The FIFA 2002 World Cup winner with Brazil admits that City are one of the favourites to lift the cup but he keeps PSG at the same level especially because of their fluid attack. “For me, these are the two teams in better condition to lift the trophy this season which means we should have a thrilling semi-final with the French team possessing a really threatening attack with Neymar, Mbappe and Di Maria.”

Lastly, he shared Pep Guardiola’s burning desire to win the Champions League with Manchester City but he feels that their biggest test will be up against the French outfit.

Pep Guardiola is desperate to finally win the Champions League with City, but I think it won’t be easy for his team to reach such goals as PSG – as well as the finalist from the other tie should they get past the French outfit – won’t be easy to dominate,” he signed off.

PSG are all set to take on Manchester City at the end of this month after they somehow managed to make way beyond Bayern Munich. The tie ended at 3-3 with PSG going through on away goals. Whereas Manchester City were pretty solid against Borussia Dortmund. There were a few chances for the German outfit as well but Guardiola’s men powered their way through to the semis in the end. However, their recent loss against Chelsea may raise a few questions in their mind again.
