Chivu is unconcerned about Salah’s future as Inter set for Liverpool clash

Inter head coach Cristian Chivu is unconcerned about the ongoing debate surrounding Liverpool’s start with Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been having a hard time at the club, having been left on the bench in the last three games as his form had already dropped, and was an unused substitute for two of them.

Chivu, who said recent comments about Liverpool are not his concern, has warned that Arne Slot’s side will still ‘maintain a high level’ with the absence of their star man.

Due to his recent comment on being thrown under the bus,  the Egyptian King has been left out of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League match.

Inter will welcome the Premier League champions in San Siro in the sixth round of Champions League League phase fixtures tonight, the final round of Champions League matches this calendar year.

Salah, who has scored 250 goals for the Merseyside club, is the Premier League’s fourth-highest goalscorer of all time.

In his recent interview, Salah accused the club of throwing him under the bus, describing the situation as ‘unacceptable’.

Reacting to the situation, Chivu said Liverpool already have someone who will replace Salah, and he expects the Premier League giant to maintain a high level as they always have done throughout their history.

“We’re talking about teams, not individuals. That is why we have to worry about what the group does, not about individuals. They have a lot of quality.”

Inter are currently 4th on the Champions League table after five games, while Liverpool occupy the 13th spot, having lost their last two matches.

The Nerazurri will be hoping to take advantage of Liverpool’s predicament, having failed to repeat last season’s form that got them the Premier League, with Salah being the highest goal scorer.

The 450 million pounds spent in the transfer market is yet to yield results as pressure continues to mount on them.
