Borussia Dortmund are closely monitoring Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard as they aim to bolster their attacking lineup for the upcoming Bundesliga season.
The Signal Iduna Park outfit is keen on strengthening their forward options, with the Belgian star emerging as a prime target.
Trossard, aged 30, has an uncertain future at Arsenal, where he has netted 28 goals and provided 23 assists in 124 appearances across all competitions since joining the Gunners. His versatility and flair make him an attractive prospect for Dortmund’s high-octane style of play.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, another Bundesliga giant, had previously shown interest in Trossard. However, the Rekordmeister shifted focus, securing Liverpool’s Luis Diaz for a hefty €75m, effectively clearing a path for Dortmund to pursue the Arsenal forward. At this stage, Dortmund’s interest remains preliminary, but their intent to reinforce their squad is evident.
In addition to Trossard, Dortmund are exploring other options to enhance their attacking depth. The club is considering a sensational return for Jadon Sancho, who previously starred for Die Schwarzgelben before moving to Manchester United.
Another target is Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka, a versatile England youth international. Dortmund are intrigued by Chukwuemeka’s potential availability for around €25m, though concerns linger about his fitness given the demanding schedule.
Previously, Dortmund hesitated to trigger Chukwuemeka’s €35m clause during his loan spell, preferring a loan deal with a lower purchase option.
Trossard, meanwhile, has attracted attention beyond Dortmund, with two unnamed Premier League clubs also tabling offers for the dynamic forward.
As the transfer window progresses, Dortmund’s pursuit of Trossard, alongside potential moves for Sancho and Chukwuemeka, signals their ambition to compete at the highest level in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
Fans eagerly await updates as negotiations unfold, with Dortmund poised to make strategic additions to their squad.
