Hansi Flick to stay at Barca despite Champions League exit

Hansi Flick has signaled his intention to remain at FC Barcelona, hinting at a possible contract extension as he continues to target major success with the club.

The German coach revealed that staying beyond his current deal is part of his long-term plan, although he emphasized that discussions about his future will be postponed until the end of the season.

Speaking ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga fixture against Celta Vigo, Flick admitted he would welcome an extension but insisted that the timing is not right.

With crucial matches still ahead, the manager is fully focused on delivering results rather than negotiating a new deal.

Club president Joan Laporta recently addressed the situation, explaining that Flick prefers to evaluate everything once the campaign concludes.

Laporta suggested that the coach has already done enough to merit a renewal, but respects his desire to assess the season before making a final decision.

Flick has made it clear that his ambitions remain firmly tied to Barcelona’s success, particularly in Europe.

The former Germany national team boss stated his goal is to win the UEFA Champions League with the Catalan side and to still be in charge when the club’s new stadium project is completed.

Barcelona’s domestic form has strengthened Flick’s position, with the team currently holding a commanding lead at the top of the table.

Sitting nine points clear of rivals Real Madrid with only a handful of matches remaining, the Blaugrana are on track to secure another league title under his leadership.

Since taking charge, Flick has delivered impressive results, overseeing more than a hundred matches and accumulating multiple trophies, including league and cup successes.

As the season approaches its climax, both the manager and the club appear aligned in their desire to continue a partnership that has already brought significant silverware.
