Harrison Reed returns to training ahead of Bristol City clash

 
Fulham midfielder, Harrison Reed, has returned to training this week. This was revealed by on its social media page on Wednesday morning.

Reed, who joined the Cottagers for  Southampton in the summer on a season-long loan, has been out of action since the start of the year after picking up a calf injury during the 2-1 defeat to Reading on New Year’s Day.

From the look of things, the creative lad looks like being close in on a return to first-team action.

In the Twitter post, there are some photos from Wednesday’s training session, which showed Neeskens Kebano, Aboubakar Kamara and Ivan Cavaleiro, and Reed with a big smile on his face.

Reed has been an important player for the Whites with 17 Championship appearances as they continue their push for instant promotion back to the Premier League, where they were relegated from last season.

Being a regular starter in Scott Parker’s side before his injury setback, it is good news for the West London team as they enter a crucial month of action.

Fulham’s next three games are against fellow promotion-hopefuls;  Bristol City, Brentford and Leeds United.

A look at the standing in the championship shows that Fulham is occupying the third spot five points adrift of Leeds United in second, the next automatic qualification spot, and West Bromwich Albion topping the log with 69 points, six points better than the Whites.

Reed ould be the final part of the puzzle for Parker as the team continues to dominate games but lacks the killer instincts to grind out the maximum points.

Apart from him being a reliable lad prior to his knock, his return will be a good headache for the manager with an array of choices to make because he is yet to settle on his favoured players.

Other competitors in the kiddle of the park include Josh Onomah, Kevin McDonald, and Harry Arter. But the aforementioned lads have failed to impress, making winning back their places in the starting eleven too tricky.

Next in front of Fulham is a trip to Ashton Gate to battle Bristol City on Saturday, 7th March. The match will kick-off at 12.30 pm UK Time.
