It is always motivating for a young player when one of the best players in the game praises him. Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma has revealed what Cristiano Ronaldo told him after their clash in the Champions League.
Manchester United defeated Villarreal by 2-1 after Ronaldo scored a goal in the 95th minute and after the match, Arnaut had the chance to exchange jerseys with the talisman and exchange a few words.
The Villarreal had impressed throughout the game and he also left an impression on Ronaldo. Danjuma had a great season for Villarreal as he scored 16 goals in 34 matches across competition.
When Ronaldo praise Danjuma for his impressive game during the jersey swap, the striker said that small things like these make a huge difference as it motivated him a lot.
Danjuma said on Freshly Grounded YouTube Channel, “There are loads (of heroes) but Cristiano Ronaldo is a childhood dream, he’s always been a hero of mine.”
“In the dressing room in Old Trafford (we swapped shirts) and that’s when I got a little chat with him as well. He looked to me and said ‘very good game, man, keep going’. It’s just stuff like that, the small things that make a big impact.”
Danjuma had earlier said he has unfinished business in the Premier League as he had told Sky Sports, “There’s definitely unfinished business for me in England. The reason why I joined Bournemouth initially was for me to play Premier League football. I think how big the league is and it’s seen as the best league in the world for many of us.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United is targeting Arnaut Danjuma ahead of the new season and his dream of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo could become a reality.
On the other hand, Ronaldo was superb for Red Devils in the previous season as he had scored 24 goals across all competitions for the club.
