Cristiano Ronaldo’s work ethic and professionalism are well known all over the world. Ronaldo is known to be the first one to arrive at a training session and the last one to leave. The talisman has worked hard in the training sessions and he has been able to reap rewards for putting in the hard work.
Ronaldo is known to give his 120% on the pitch and he has had a glorious career. Former Real Madrid and Brazil defender Roberto Carlos compared Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo and he feels the Portuguese has an advantage over the other two players because of the work he puts into his training.
Ronaldo, 37, is still going strong as he is fit as a fiddle. The talisman had scored 24 goals across all competitions for Manchester United and he was the only positive for the club during their ho-hum season as they finished in the sixth place in the points table.
On the other hand, Messi could only score 11 goals across all competitions while playing for PSG Saint-Germain despite having players like Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe alongside him.
Speaking to Fox Sports (via Sport Bible), Roberto Carlos said: “These days, when you talk about football, you talk about Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo.
“Cristiano has worked to improve. When you talk about the Ballon d’Or or any other prize, it’s not just any person who votes, it’s people who know football, who follow the stats of the players and pick the best in the world.
“I watch him train every day and the way he works is exciting. He wants to improve every day.”
“That’s the difference with Messi. Leo is a phenomenon, we never talk about Neymar… but that side of Cristiano, of training, professionalism, focus, motivation, success… Cristiano has an advantage over all the others.”
Both Messi and Ronaldo could play their last FIFA World Cup in Qatar whereas Neymar had earlier confirmed that this World Cup will be his last major tournament for Brazil.
