He’s completely disengaged with the team – Steve Nicol on Cristiano Ronaldo after Portuguese leaves the team at half-time

 

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes Cristiano Ronaldo is completely disengaged with Manchester United. Ronaldo finally returned to play for the Red Devils at the Old Trafford on Sunday in club friendly against Rayo Vallecano. The match ended in a 1-1 draw as the team share the spoils.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo was picked in the starting XI by Erik Ten Hag but he was substituted at the half-time after an ordinary performance. But Ronaldo was not impressed and decided to left leave the stadium. In fact, this is not the first time when Ronaldo has shown his anger.

Many Manchester United fans reckons it was a sign of disrespect from Ronaldo after he decided to leave the team.

In fact, Ronaldo played on Sunday amid a lot of uncertainty regarding his future at the club. However, this incident has once again casted a shadow of doubt on his time at Manchester United. However, Ronaldo had taken to social media to upload a picture of himself with a caption, “Happy to be back.”

Steve Nicol told ESPN, “Well, the one thing it tells you is that he’s completely disengaged with the team, it’s as simple as that. I’ve seen and I know players and I’ve done it myself who have left before the end of the game.”

He added: “But I’ve not been in the team or the squad and I’ve been disgruntled and I’m ready to leave so you’re disengaged with what’s going on at the club. But this guy actually played and then left before the end, that has got get me out of here written all over it.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been in decent form in the preseason matches. They won against Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace and drew their matches against Aston Villa and Rayo Vallecano.

The Red Devils will begin their Premier League campaign against Brighton on Saturday at Old Trafford.
