Inter Milan have presented an improved offer for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman as they aim to bolster their attack.
The Nerazurri have made the Nigerian international their top priority. The latest bid is €42 million, plus an additional €3 million in add-ons.
This is an improved bid to the original €40m proposal made by the Italian giant last week.
A new meeting between directors representing the two clubs was held on Tuesday, and the Nerazzurri had promised an improvement to the initial offer.
From the look of things, the initial bid that was €40m plus €5m in add-ons has now changed.
According to Sky Sport Italia and Sport Mediaset, the written offer is worth €42m in fixed fee plus another €3m in add-ons.
It is yet to be confirmed if the new bid will be sufficient for Atalanta, who had wanted €50m including bonuses for the forward.
Lookman, who will turn 28 in October, has two years left on his contract with Atalanta.
Le Dea will be making a huge profit from the winger they purchased from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €10.85m plus €1.5m in bonuses.
The Bundesliga club will also be getting a cut from the sell-on fee for the 2024 African Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, Atalanta have signed teenage Croatian talent Sergej Levak as a free agent.
He became a free agent after his contract with Roma was not renewed.
The 19-year-old is expected to inject some creativity into the midfield of La Dea. He is regarded as one of the brightest talents on the Croatian football scene.
The NK Osijek academy product moved to Roma in 2023 for €500,000 on a two-year deal that eventually ran out this summer.
Levak scored seven goals and provided four assists in 35 games for Roma at the Primavera youth team level last season.
Before joining Atalanta, he was on the radar of numerous clubs interested, including Bayern Munich, but he decided to stay in Italy.
He will begin his Atalanta adventure with their Under-23 side, which participates in Serie C, but is expected to step up rapidly to the senior squad under new coach Ivan Juric.
The Croatian under-19 international has signed a five-year deal with La Dea.
