Liverpool Continue To Dominate With win Against Sheffield

Egyptian Mohammed Salah and Senegalese Sadio Mane were both on target, as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners over Sheffield United at Anfield on Thursday in the English Premier League.

Both players scored in either halves, as Mohammed Salah scored four minutes into the game. He scored after been put through by Andrew Robertson.

The reds huffed and puffed for another goal in the first half but were denied a couple of times by the brilliance of Sheffield United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Sadio Mane scored after the beak just 4 minutes after the hour mark to put the scores at 2-0. With the result, Jurgen Klopp’s team extended their lead at the top of the EPL to 13 points despite having a game in hand.

Sheffield United on the other hand has 29 points and are sitting in eight with seven points away from a top 4 place in the EPL.

Both teams will now turn their focus on the FA Cup as Liverpool will face rivals Everton on Sunday at home with new signing from RB Salzburg, Takumi Minamino expected to debut after joining his new teammates earlier this week.

Sheffield United will also be host to lower division side AFC Fylde on Sunday. In other FA Cup 4th round ties, Leicester City will host Wigan while Newcastle united will travel to Rochdale.

Current Champions of the Competition, Manchester city will host Port Vale while Bournemouth will host Luton. Gillingham against West Ham and Watford against Tranmmere.

Wolves and Manchester united will also go head to head, Chelsea against Nothingham Forest, Spurs travel to championship side Middlebrough.

Crystal Palace will host Derby at Selhurst Park, Southampton will host Huddlesfield while Aston Villa will travel to Fulham.

Arsenal and Leeds will round up the FA Cup fixtures on Monday.
