Jadon Sancho’s strike secures Manchester United’s third win of the season

Jadon Sancho’s 23rd-minute strike was enough to secure Manchester United’s third win of the season on Thursday night against Leicester City at the Kings Power Stadium.

Since losing to Brighton and Brentford n their first two match days, Manchester United have now gone on to win their third consecutive victory after beating Liverpool 2-1, Southampton 1-0, and Leicester City on Thursday.

Jadon Sancho’s 23rd-minute strike came off Marcus Rashford’s assists as the Red Devils build momentum ahead of their clash with Arsenal at the weekend.

By sharp contrast, Arsenal has won all the first five games of the season and looks to be in good shape to take on Manchester United.

Erik Ten Hag explained that he was too happy about the victory and that the win was one more step in the right direction

“11 players on the pitch fought for each other and scored a lovely team goal. Still, there are improvements to make, but that is normal at this stage of the season. There were many spaces that we did not exploit that well. With better decisions, we should have scored a second goal. We have to be more ruthless, but, as I said, there is room for improvement.” Erik Ten Hag said.

Manchester United have now moved to 5th on the Premier League table and are now six points behind Arsenal, whom they face next.

In the Premier League games for the weekend, it’s a Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool. Both sides have had an inconsistent start to the Premier League season.

There is a London Derby between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur at the new White Hart Lane Stadium and the same for the game between Chelsea and West Ham.

Manchester City would travel away to Aston Villa, and Brighton and Leicester will tackle each other.
