Jeremie Boga rejects Leicester City move on deadline day

After many had expected Jeremie Boga to have join English side Leicester City, there now seems to be tension with Atalanta.

The Ivorian, due to his pace, would have given many Premier League defenders a headache

According to reports, the Serie A club are furious with or refusing a move to Leicester City, while Torino also rejected West Ham United’s offer for Ola Aina.

It was reported that the two clubs had reached a basic agreement for the loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

But when everything was ready to go through on transfer deadline day, Boga hit the brakes and outright refused to move to Leicester City.

This made the Bergamo club leave him in the stands for Thursday’s Serie A match against Torino.

Boga was the club record purchase at €22m from Sassuolo in January.

There were emotional scenes at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo when Josip Ilicic said goodbye to the Atalanta fans. The Slovenia international terminated his contract by mutual consent this week.

With these two top players leaving without replacements, Atalanta could struggle this season.

Meanwhile, Torino also rejected a bid from West Ham United for Ola Aina, and to send a strong message, the wing-back was in the starting XI for the evening’s match against Atalanta.

In another development, Roma winger Justin Kluivert joined on loan with the option to buy for €15m after the move to Fulham collapsed.

Meanwhile, Denis Zakaria has completed a move to Chelsea. The Swiss midfielder dis his medical in Turin.

With him, the midfield of the Blues now have some physical player. Ngolo Kante, Chelsea’s main midfield anchor, has been battling injuries recently.
