Juventus forward Paulo Dybala could be sold in the coming summer transfer. His future at the Old Lady is likely to be determined if the Turin giant qualifies for the Champions League next term.
According to reports in Italy, the future of the Argentine depends on the Old Lady qualifying for the prestigious tournament.
As things stand, Juventus could miss the tournament as they are joint third on the log with 66 points alongside AC Milan and Napoli after failing to get a win in their last two Serie A games.
Lazio could join the party of the teams fighting for the spot once it wins its outstanding game. A win will take them to 64 points, two points behind the teams occupying the third spot.
This is coming in a season the Argentine had struggled with COVID and injuries, restricting his contribution to the team this season to just 16 appearances.
The current deal of the 27-year-old, who joined Juventus from Palermo in July 2015, expires in June 2022.
The club’s present position on the log is believed to be the reason a negotiation has not been held, not to talk of reaching an agreement over a renewal with the player.
Therefore, the Bianconerri could be forced to sell this summer instead of losing him on a free transfer next year. This could help them balance their books.
Meanwhile, Dybala’s future depends on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future too. According to reports in Italy, Ronaldo does not intend to leave Juve, but the club won’t fund their salaries together if they are out of the Champions League next season.
With the Portuguese superstar wanting to remain at the Allianz Stadium, there is a likelyhood that La Joya will leave once the Turin club misses the spot.
Speculations also say that failing to qualify for the Champions League could make Andre Pirlo lose his job.
