Juventus set to hand McKennie new deal

Juventus are set to hand Weston McKennie a new and improved deal after the USA international becomes more important to the squad under Luciano Spalletti.

This has therefore settled the midfielder’s future at the Turin club. According to multiple sources, McKennie is set to put pen to paper on a new and improved contract extension with the club.

Spalletti has enjoyed the versatility of the USMNT star, who is due to be out of contract at the end of the 2025-26 season.

He is therefore not expected to walk away from the club on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport reported that both parties have an agreement in place over a new and improved contract extension for McKennie, which will run until the summer of 2030.

McKennie will reportedly earn around €4m per season in wages on his new contract.

According to Tuttosport,  the American will receive just over €4m with bonuses included in the first year of his deal. La Gazzetta dello Sport said his salary will increase slightly with each passing year on his contract.

Juventus have a busy week coming up. They will have to go away to turn around a three-goal deficit in the Champions League when they host Galatasaray. They will then play AS Roma in the Serie A next weekend.

Juventus are expected to announce McKennie’s new deal after the game against the Giallorossi this weekend.

This development is coming just a few weeks after Juventus handed a new contract to riding star Kenan Yildiz, who is now among the highest earners at the club.

McKennie has played 35 games for the Turin giant this season, scoring 7 goals and assisting 6.

He had struggled for game time before rediscovering his present, which warranted a new deal.
