Juventus set to sign Alajbegovic; Kolo Muani is next

Juventus have reportedly agreed a €33m plus €7m add-ons deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Kerim Alajbegovic and could eventually sign their main target, Randal Kolo Muani.

According to reports, the move was surprising as Alajbegovic had been linked with Chelsea, Milan, Roma and Atalanta.

Patrick Berger had earlier on Wednesday afternoon reported it before Fabrizio Romano also confirmed an advanced negotiations.

Latest reports say all parties have shaken hands, and are now just waiting for the player to give the all-clear.

This is another twist in the transfer tale for the Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who had spent most of the summer attracting attention from clubs, but none were prepared to meet the €35m plus bonus asking price.

Atalanta were the closest but later back away when their proposal was rejected while Chelsea seemed to be in advanced talks earlier.

The Juventus got into the deal out of nowhere, perhaps disguised by their pursuit of Kolo Muani, or connected to the loan of Lois Openda to Olympique Lyonnais.

The teenage sensation had various clubs wanting his signature at various points, and there had been reports earlier in the summer that he was eager to make Serie A his next move.

The 18-year-old scored 13 goals with four assists in 44 competitive games for RB Salzburg on loan last season.

In a related development,  Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali is still hopeful that they will be able to sign Kolo Muani before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Juventus boss is hoping there isn’t long to go before an agreement is struck with Paris Saint-Germain for centre-forward following weeks of negotiations between the two sides.

The 2026-27 Serie A season begins less than a month and Juventus have still not brought in the new centre-forward that head coach Luciano Spalletti has been targeting.

The Old Lady already lost Dusan Vlahovic for free after the expiry of his contract on June 30. Although reports claim that the two parties have remained in contact over a potential extension.

Kolo Muani had during his first stint with the Turin club scored eight goals from 16 Serie A appearances.
