Luis Díaz committed to Bayern Munich despite Al Hilal transfer interest

Luis Díaz has made it clear that he wants to remain at Bayern Munich despite fresh speculation linking the Colombian winger with a lucrative move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.

A lot of media reports in Germany are claiming that Al Hilal are monitoring the 29-year-old and have recently gathered information about the possibility of signing him during the summer transfer window.

The Saudi side also attempted to recruit Díaz last summer, when they were reportedly prepared to offer him annual net wages worth as much as €22.5million.

However, Díaz has informed Bayern that he is happy in Munich, remains committed to the German champions and is not currently considering an exit.

Bayern share that position and have no intention of entering negotiations with Al Hilal or any other club interested in acquiring the attacker.

No formal offers have arrived for Díaz, while the Bundesliga champions have not established an asking price because they do not regard him as available for transfer.

Club chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen strongly dismissed the idea of selling the former Liverpool player, telling Kicker that Bayern would be “stupid” to cash in on him.

Dreesen also praised the quality of Bayern’s squad and suggested the club should focus on beginning the new season positively and producing goals rather than entertaining speculation about important players.

Díaz has become an important attacking option in Munich, with his pace, direct running and ability in wide areas making him a valuable part of the team’s plans.

Those qualities have understandably attracted attention from abroad, but both the player and his employers appear united in their desire to continue working together.

Al Hilal’s financial strength means further interest cannot be ruled out, although Bayern’s firm stance and Díaz’s preference to stay leave little room for a deal at present.

With preparations for the 2026/27 campaign gathering pace, Díaz is expected to concentrate on training and helping Bayern defend their domestic honours rather than pursuing a move elsewhere.

Unless the situation changes significantly before the deadline, the Colombia international looks set to remain in Bavaria, where Bayern believe he can play a major role in another push for trophies at home and in Europe during the coming season ahead.
