Kai Havertz is back playing regular football after recovering from a knee injury, and he is aiming to return to his best form in time for the World Cup.
The talented German international is determined to lead the way for his national team after an injury-strewn season that has tested his resilience and commitment.
Havertz has made just 14 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, having suffered a knee injury right on the opening day of the campaign.
However, he has settled back into the team effectively since his return in January. During this period, he has netted three goals, none of which were in the Premier League, and has also registered two assists, showing his value to the squad.
Arsenal suffered a defeat in the EFL Cup final to Manchester City last weekend.
Nevertheless, the club still has ambitions for a potential treble as they continue to fight on multiple fronts for the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup titles.
The 26-year-old forward is thoroughly relishing the demanding and busy schedule he has with Arsenal.
He views it as a crucial platform to step up his performance levels and prepare adequately ahead of the major international tournament.
Meanwhile, Havertz is delighted to be back in the Germany squad for the first time in more than a year.
He had missed all three international breaks in the first half of the season due to the persistent knee injury.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of the friendly against Switzerland, Kai revealed how incredibly tough it was for him to return from such a long-term injury layoff.
He is now relishing the opportunity to start strong and build confidence ahead of the World Cup.
Germany’s World Cup campaign begins on June 14 against the tournament debutants, Curacao.
They have been drawn in Group E alongside Ivory Coast and Ecuador. Since winning in Brazil 12 years ago, Germany have struggled with exits in 2018 and 2022.
