“Life is unfair,” says Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp regarding new signing Darwin Nunez as the Reds won against Aston Villa

The Premier League has resumed and so has Liverpool as they resumed with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa. Mohamed Salah scored the opening goal and handed the Reds the lead. He then turned provider as Virgil Van Dijk doubled the scoring. While Ollie Watkins pulled on back for Unai Emery’s men in the 59th minute. However Liverpool scored again through Stefan Bajcetic and sealed three crucial points.

Jurgen Klopp was happy with his team’s performance as it was overall a great game for the Reds considering they resumed their season following a hectic World Cup for some of the players. However, Klopp individually lauded new signing Darwin Nunez’s performance against Villa. He was very happy to see Nunez play so well and hence he praised him after the game.

Despite having a good game, the Uruguayan striker still could not score. He missed four big chances in this game and it looks like he is clearly short on confidence when it comes to scoring goals. He had a very below par World Cup with Uruguay and there also he struggled to score goals.

However after the game, Klopp shared how Nunez had a great game and that life is not fair always as he asks people to judge players more than just scoring goals. The German tactician is confident that he will score goals and bucket load of them but even when he isnt he is contributing in other ways for the Reds.

“It’s incredible what a game he played, Life is unfair, on the foot it’s probably one inch or less and the ball goes in. He will score, there’s no doubt about that. What he gives us… he has power that’s incredible,” Klopp said after the 3-1 win over Villa.

There are already concerns over Nunez and his goalscoring returns as he came to merseyside for a big price and hence people will leave no opportunity to judge him and call him names when he fails to live up to that billing of people’s expectations. Klopp is confident of the young Uruguayan as he feels that these phases come in a striker’s life.

“Of course he will score. I was in this situation very often with strikers, and everything will be fine. His game was exceptional,” Klopp added.

Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League table due to their poor start to the season. After the win against Villa they have 25 points from 15 games. Jurgen Klopp’s men will face Leicester City next at home on 31st December. They will surely be looking to win again and this time they will also hope that their new signing Darwin Nunez also gets a goal and gets his confidence back.
