Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo unsure about Harry Kane’s status amid Manchester City rumours

Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has claimed that he is not sure about Harry Kane’s future to such an extent that his availability in the next game against Wolves is also up in the air. Harry Kane who wants to leave the club and join Manchester City has finally joined the training for Spurs.

The England skipper will miss out on Spurs’ Europa Conference League clash against Pacos de Ferreira. He may also miss the second Premier League match this season against Wolves.

When quizzed about Kane’s situation heading into Sunday’s Premier League match against Wolves, Nuno told the reporters, “I cannot answer this. I can answer that he’s getting better and better, fitter, and he will join the group on Friday. Then we’ll see.

“He’s better than yesterday and hopefully he’s going to be better tomorrow. That’s how all the players working should be. Improving and working on fitness.”

However, the Portuguese tactician admitted that he has spoken with the star striker since joining the training. He added, “We speak to all the players on a daily basis. It’s normal that we speak to them all.”

Spurs defender Ben Davies is also clueless about the England skipper’s future but he is happy that Kane is still training with them. “He’s probably one of the world’s best strikers and he’s training with us now.

“The rest is out of my hands, but of course you’d want him in the team rather than out of it.”

Kane has been linked with Manchester City over a £100 million-plus move but the Lillywhites are determined to keep him at the club. Kane did not feature in the Premier League opener as Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester City 1-0 as Heung min Son scored the solitary goal in a very closely contested game.

The 28-year-old has three years left on his current contract but he is not happy with the situation at Spurs. He has not won a single piece of silverware with the Lillywhites despite him shining. Kane wants to win trophies in his career and feels that he has a gentleman’s clause in his contract with Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy. He feels that ultimately he will be allowed to leave and join Manchester City this summer.
