Napoli president gives Garcia three games to improve Napoli result

Reports have emerged in Italy that Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has given Rudi Garcia three more games to improve his chances of remaining the team manager.

The Serie A defending champions have failed to produce last season’s form. The Azzurri, which won last season, Scudetto 7 points behind leaders Inter.

This means the Napoli boss is under continued scrutiny at Napoli following his side’s 2-2 home draw with Milan on Sunday evening.

Garcia will have to get results as Napoli currently sit outside the Champions League positions after ten games, in fifth with 18 points, one shy of Atalanta in fourth.

In their Serie A clash against AC Milan at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Sunday, Napoli found themselves two down just after half an hour played before being able to rescue a point in the second half after a tactical shift from Garcia at the interval.

It was gathered that the president visited the dressing room during the half time to speak to the players when they were two goals down courtesy of doubleheaders from Olivier Giroud before Matteo Politano and Giacomo Raspadori restored parity.

It could be recalled that Laurentiis did this in the past, speaking to players inside the dressing room during the break during the tenures of Edy Reja and Roberto Donadoni.

Although De Laurentiis still has faith in the squad that Garcia has had available to him, he could be fired should he fail to get results in their next three games.

This means De Laurentiis has no intention of dismissing Garcia in the immediate future, which could partly be due to the lack of other available options.

Calciomercato writes that ADL expects nine points from the upcoming games against Salernitana, Union Berlin, and Empoli across Serie A and the Champions League.
