Napoli want to sign Duran and Lookman

Napoli have expressed interest in signing former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran from Al-Nassr.

The Colombia left Villa Park to move to the Saudi Pro League six months ago.

Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reported that the Serie A champion have made a formal offer to sign Duran. Fenerbahce have also reportedly made an offer for the Colombian.

This is the second time Napoli had shown interest in signing Duran. Partonopei had expressed interest in the striker before his move to Al-Nassr during the winter transfer window.

Al-Nassr coughed out €77m to sign Duran from Aston Villa, while his former club, the Chicago Fire in MLS, benefitted a 15% sell-on clause from the deal.

Since joining the Saudi club, the 21-year-old has scored eight goals from 12 appearances in the 2024-25 campaign.

In a related development, Napoli has also expressed interest in Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman.

A move from the current Serie A champion could tempt La Dea to sell Lookman under the right circumstances this summer.

It means that Napoli will be hard-pressed to match La Dea’s current valuation of the reigning African Player of the Year.

Lookman could be a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who left for Paris Saint-Germane and Napoli are working ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer transfer window.

Napoli have reportedly begun proceedings with the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer.

According to reports, Atalanta’s asking price for the 27-year-old could complicate matters for the Partenopei, and he is not considered ‘unsellable’ as things stand in Bergamo.

Atalanta wants over €50m for his services this summer, according to Football Italia. The deal does not include add-ons and does not involve any potential players in exchange.

However, Napoli could offer Atalanta a player-plus-cash exchange as La Dea’s aim raise as much profit as possible from Lookman’s sale.
