PSG accelerate talks on Suzuki; may sell Barcola

As Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to accelerate negotiations for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, they could also sell Bradley Barcola as Liverpool begins official communication with the Paris club.

The European champions have already submitted an opening offer worth €33m, including bonuses, and are aiming to wrap up the deal for the 23-year-old goalie quickly.

Transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, reported that Les Parisien will continue talks with the Serie A club this week and hope to bring the transfer to a swift conclusion.

Suzuki is being monitored by some top European clubs due to his performance for Parma last season, among which is Juventus.

With a bid submitted to the Serie A club, the Japanese international is now open to joining PSG after being presented with the club’s project.

According to reports, Parma are ready to negotiate following the official proposal, as the French champions are now considered to be ahead of Juventus in the race for his signature.

PSG already have Lucas Chevalier and Matvey Safonov competing for the starting position.

PSG signed Chevalier last summer from Lille with the expectation of becoming first choice, but was subsequently displaced by Safonov.

Suzuki, during his 20 Serie A appearances last season, recorded five clean sheets in a campaign interrupted by a fractured left hand.

The stock of the 23-year-old then rose with Japan during the 2026 World Cup when he helped his country reach the round of 16 before their elimination against Brazil.

Romano further reported that the Reds’ management have made an initial offer in excess of €100m, which is reportedly still some way short of the demands made by their Parisian counterparts.

It is therefore expected that negotiations are not halted as the French winger is keen to join the Merseyside club.

Barcola joined the capital club from Olympique Lyonnais, where he came through the ranks. He now appears ready to take the next step in his career.
