PSG boss issues warning ahead of Brest visit as Spaniard warns against complacency

On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique urged his players to dismiss their 3-0 first-leg success over Brest in the Champions League play-offs and fight for victory in the return leg to secure a place in the last-16 knockout stages.

PSG’s success on February 11 at the Municipal Du Roudourou came during an impressive run of form since the start of the year.

In their first game of 2025, Enrique’s charges beat Monaco to claim the Trophée des Champions – the French Super Cup – for a record 13th time.

Enrique’s side has won five and drawn once in their six Ligue 1 matches, negotiated two rounds of the Coupe de France, won two of their last games in the group stages of the Champions League, and took a big step towards the round of 16 knockout stages.

PSG, who reached the semi-finals last season, have been fixtures in the Champions League since the Qatari Sports Investment group took full control of the club in March 2012.

Brest are playing for the first time in European club football’s most prestigious tournament and qualified for the playoffs after finishing their eight games in the group stages in 18th place with 13 points.

Speaking to the media in the build of the fixture, Enrique hailed Best, labeling them a well-built team that works hard.

“Their strength is the team and not the individuals, even though they have some quality players,” he said.

“We’re forgetting the result of the first leg, which is very positive of course. The only objective we have is to win on the night.”

There is no doubt that PSG will want to wrap this up quickly on the night as they aim to participate in the next phase.
