Paris Saint-Germain are also preparing new deals for Bradley Barcola and Senny Mayulu, as contract extension talks with Ousmane Dembélé are very much on hold.
The European champions have set their priorities for the coming weeks and months as they want to tie the young talents to long-term deals.
Reports from France say a variety of factors resulted in talks with Dembélé being put on hold, and they are not expected to resume talks until after the FIFA World Cup in the summer.
L’Équipe then reported that PSG’s attention is now shifting towards Barcola and Mayulu.
Barcola still has two. years left on his present deal, while Mayulu’s deal will expire in June 2027.
With a few years and months remaining on their contracts, locking in these two players is now the priority for the reigning European champions.
L’Équipe had reported difficulties in talks over Barcola’s renewal. Those difficulties were thought to pertain to his role in the team, having been a key player in recent months.
Concerning talks over Mayulu’s renewal, PSG are looking to make breakthroughs.
In a related development, Barcola could return to the team against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
The former Olympique Lyonnais winger has been included in the squad that has travelled to Merseyside for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
The Paris club had won the first leg 2-0 at Parc des Princes.
Barcola has been out of action since coming off injured in the match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the last round.
Having missed the international break and the first leg of the Liverpool game, PSG have received a boost as Luis Enrique welcomes Barcola back to the fold.
He may start from the bench while Fabián Ruiz remains out due to a knee injury sustained at the end of January.
Quentin Ndjantou, who has undergone surgery on a hamstring injury, is also not on the plane to Liverpool.
