PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe confident to win away from home following a 1-0 defeat against Bayern

Paris Saint germain suffered yet another defeat against Bayern Munich as this time they lost 1-0 against the German Champions at the Parc des Princes in front of their home fans who were absolutely sensational throughout the ninety minutes. Despite the loss, Kylian Mbappe who only played the last few minutes of this game made a very confident claim as he assured the fans and media that they will beat Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena in the second leg and progress through to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Considering Bayern’s recent form against PSG, it is a bold claim but surely the French outfit have the ammunition to make it big in Munich in a month’s time. In that period Mbappe will also be back to full fitness and that will change a lot of things for the club as the Frenchman is keen to win the Champions League trophy with PSG this season.

Mbappe was unleashed later in the second half by coach Christophe Galtier but once he entered the pitch, he changed the game on it’s course and found the net twice but unfortunately both times it was ruled out by VAR. He a;lso came up with a stunning attempt which was saved by Sommer onhis Champiuon’s League debut for Bayern as he did a good enough job.

Lionel Messi also had a big opportunity as Nuno Mendes did all the hard work to set up the ball but the Argentine lacked concentration as he sent it over the bar. Overall Mabppe was very confident on PSG’s attacking game and believes that it will surely cause Bayern troubles in the second leg.

“We’ve shown in the last part of the game that we can make them uncomfortable when we play our attacking football. We hope to have everyone fit for the second leg. We’ll go there to win and qualify,” the Frenchman told after the first leg defeat.

Kingsley Coman who scored the solitary goal on the night spoke about his stance of not celebrating the goal. He highlighted that he can never forget the place where he grew up. “It was special. It’s the club where I grew up. It’s my city; it’s where I was born. So it was complicated to celebrate my goal here.”

PSg and Bayern Munich are forming a rivalry as they have met quite a few time sin Champions Legaue knockouts in recent years. The German giants defeated PSG to win the 2020 finals whereas PSG returned the favour in the 2020-21 season quarterfinals despite facing a home defeat as they went through due to away goals.

This time it will be interesting to see if the Germans will manage to take advantage of this first leg win or will the Parisians make a strong comeback in the second leg. This time they won’t have the away goals advantage so Mbappe, Messi and Neymar need to step up or this will be the end of their Champions League journey this season.
