PSG trio out of Le Havre tie

Paris Saint-Germain will be without Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Ousmane Dembélé for their visit to Le Havre this weekend.

They have missed training and will not travel to Le Havre for the Week 9 matchday clash scheduled for Friday.

The two-time European champions are also without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who underwent surgery on Tuesday in Doha for a ruptured cruciate ligament, the injury he suffered against Barcelona in their last UEFA Champions League tie.

PSG still has enough backups for the tie, the team said in its pre-match medical update on Thursday.

According to the Parisian club, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, and Ousmane Dembélé are continuing their treatment.

Marquinhos and Dembélé were also forced off with injuries during the 4-2 win over Barcelona.

Nuno Mendes has been out of action since the trip to Strasbourg, and Kvaratskhelia is expected to miss several months after undergoing surgery in Doha on Tuesday.

PSG also revealed that Mika Godts. who scored and provided an assist against Lyon, is also absent, as he is due to become a father in the coming hours.

In a related development, reports have emerged that the European champions won’t pursue Bayer Leverkusen forward Ibrahim Maza, despite reports to the contrary in Germany.

PSG could dip into the transfer window to replace Kvaratskhelia.

Due to the Anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered, the Georgian may not play again this season.

RMC reported that there are plenty of internal options to replace ‘Kvara’, but Luis Enrique has not ruled out signing a player if an opportunity arises.

The 20-year-old winger has been touted as a potential replacement in recent days.

However, RMC Sport reported that the Algerian international will not be approached by the reigning European champions this winter.

Although Les Parisiens are not opposed to signing a prospect in the January transfer window, they would only do so at a reasonable price if the opportunity arises.

PSG also won’t limit itself to recruiting an attacker, as it will look at where to reinforce its squad.
