Real Madrid’s turbulent start to the 2026-27 season has intensified, with reports of dressing-room unrest emerging alongside concerns over Kylian Mbappe’s recovery and Endrick’s lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho.
Reports claim two unnamed first-team players were involved in a physical altercation, adding to reports of tension within the squad.
The incident follows a May clash between Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, and the team has also struggled to build cohesion under previous managers Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa.
Mbappe has also reportedly frustrated Mourinho after withdrawing from France duty with a left knee tendon injury before being spotted in Paris and later posting a video of himself cycling in the Swiss Alps.
According to reports, Mourinho was unhappy with how the forward handled his recovery and reminded him to be more disciplined off the pitch.
The situation is particularly significant given Mourinho’s previous warning to his players about activities that could risk injury.
The Portuguese manager has stressed that footballers must consider their profession around the clock and specifically warned against cycling, skiing and other activities that could lead to injuries.
Amid the unrest, Endrick is also considering his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Brazilian forward is reportedly open to a January loan move after playing only four minutes in Real Madrid’s 3-2 win over Elche, despite returning from an impressive spell at Lyon, where he scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 21 matches.
AC Milan are believed to be Endrick’s preferred destination if he leaves on loan, with the Italian club having previously shown interest in signing him.
A move to San Siro could reunite him with former Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. At the same time, Milan’s need for attacking reinforcements following Alexis Saelemaekers’ injury could increase the chances of a deal.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, face Villarreal on Saturday before traveling to Roma in the Champions League, giving Mourinho little time to settle the issues within his squad.
