Real Madrid hold on to beat Celta Vigo

Real Madrid secured a crucial 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga, moving to within four points of leaders Barcelona ahead of their upcoming El Clasico match. Kylian Mbappe scored twice for the home side, including a thumping finish in the 39th minute and a clinical slot in the 48th minute. Arda Guler also scored with a curling shot that deflected into the top corner in the 33rd minute.

Celta Vigo fought back in the second half, with Javi Rodriguez scoring a close-range finish in the 69th minute and Williot Swedberg netting a well-worked goal in the 76th minute. Despite the visitors’ late surge, Real Madrid held firm to claim a fourth consecutive league win.

The match was marked by some impressive individual performances, including Iago Aspas, who provided two excellent assists for Celta Vigo. Aspas’ vision and skill were evident throughout the game, and he was instrumental in creating several scoring opportunities for his team.

Real Madrid’s victory means they head into next Sunday’s El Clasico match against Barcelona knowing a fifth straight league win would leave them just a point behind their fierce rivals with three games remaining. The win was a significant boost for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who will look to build on this momentum in the final stretch of the season.

The match was intense, with chances at both ends in a frenetic finale. Celta Vigo pushed hard for an equalizer, but Real Madrid’s defense held firm, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois making a crucial save to deny Pablo Duran. The win keeps Real Madrid in contention for the La Liga title.

The victory also keeps Celta Vigo in seventh place as they continue to fight for a European spot. Despite their late push, they were ultimately unable to overcome Real Madrid’s strong defensive display. The match showcased the team’s determination and resilience, but ultimately, it wasn’t enough to secure a positive result.
