Paris Saint-Germain maintain their perfect record in the French Ligue 1 with another victory against RC Lens at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.
This capped a week where the European champions criticised the French football federation over the injuries suffered by their Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue during the international break.
However, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi wrote a letter of appreciation to the Royal Spanish Football Federation for their handling of Fabian Ruiz.
Having criticised the FFF for the workload they put on both Dembele and Doue, Al-Khelaïfi lauds the Spanish FA for what he described as excellent care and attention provided to Ruiz during the international break.
Dembélé, who has been tipped to win the Ballon d’Or, sustained a serious hamstring injury during international duty. PSG have reportedly requested that France carefully monitor his workload before he finally sustained the injury.
Their absence was an opportunity for Bradley Barcola to shine, and the French winger grabbed it with both hands as he scored twice for the Paris club to maintain their 100% Ligue 1 record with a comfortable victory over Lens.
The result returns the champions to the summit of the Ligue 1 table with Lille, which won earlier in the day, two points back in second.
Lyon, who will later play away to Rennes on Sunday evening, is a point further behind on nine.
Barcola gave PSG an early lead with a curling finish from 20 yards. The winger doubled their lead six minutes after the break with a long-range effort after cutting in from the left.
Unfortunately, PSG could be without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Lee Kang-in, and Lucas Beraldo, as the trio are of concern to manager Luis Enrique.
PSG will hope to have them back on Wednesday when they begin the defense of their UEFA Champions League title as they clash against Serie A side Atalanta at the Parc des Princes.
Le Dea also recorded an emphatic victory against Lecce in their match, which coincidentally was their first win in the Serie A this season.
