Two of Barça’s forwards have been named in the La Liga team of the week once again following their spectacular displays during Barça’s 3-0 victory at Alavés on Sunday.
The Blaugrana have been simply outstanding this season, currently sitting at the summit with 24 points from nine La Liga matches so far; this is thanks to their hitman, Robert Lewandowski, and captain, Raphinha.
The duo of Lewandowski and Raphinha have been superb for the club this campaign, notably after ending last season on a rather disappointing note. They have grown stronger and sharper and have formed a deadly partnership together in Hansi Flick’s Barca side.
Both Lewandowski and Raphinha have scored fifteen of Barça’s twenty-eight goals this season in the league – which is a whopping seventy percent of all they’ve scored this campaign already.
Lewandowski scored ten league goals with two assists in his name, while the Brazilian winger notched five goals and registered four assists.
Their exceptional performance at Alavés was once again worthy of earning their spots in Marca’s La Liga team of the week for another time. Robert Lewandowski bagged a hat-trick – his first since 2022 in the first half at Alavés, while Raphinha’s contribution to the demolition of their hosts was equally significant for Barça’s overall triumph.
Barcelona, alongside Real Madrid players, dominated the list, but for the duo of Lewandowski and Raphinha, this is the second time their names will appear on the list after they inspired Barça to a 5-1 victory over Real Madrid’s opponent on Saturday, Villarreal.
The club and Hansi Flick can only hope that this newly built chemistry will last for a while, considering that the El Clasico will happen later this month after the international break. However, Barcelona will face Sevilla and Bayern Munich before the big one.
