Transfers: Icardi and Toko Ekambi future sorted

With Mauro Icardi now officially a Paris Sainte Germaine player and Karl Toko Ekambi’s loan deal with Lyon made permanent, French Ligue 1 clubs have started planning ahead of the summer transfer window.

PSG had already been declared the winner of the league after the government said sporting actions wouldn’t take place in France until September.

On Monday, June 8,  FC Nantes also announced the arrival of Jean-Charles Castelletto, who joined the club from Stade Brestois on a free transfer. The 25-year-old central defender will join Nante officially on 1 July.

Castelletto, who signed a four year deal with the Ligue 1 side, played almost all Brest games last season with 22 appearances and one goal to his credit.

He will now join  Nicolas Pallois and Andrei Girotto, who were Nante’s regular central back pair, to fight for his place in the team.

In another development, FC Metz promising youngster, Kevin N’Doram, has also signed with the club permanently after initially joining on a loan deal from AS Monaco last season.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has now committed to Les Grenats through to 2024. N’Doram, who had played for France under 21, is the son of the great Japhet N’Doram, actively partaking in keeping Les Messins in the top league. He made 20 appearances for the club in the 2019-20 campaign.

Meanwhile, there is no more news that Icardi and Toko-Ekambi are now officially PSG and Lyon’s players, respectively, after making their loan deals permanent with the respective club.

Icardi was forced out of Inter by the manager, Antonio Conte, but found solace at the Paris club. Toko-Ekambi returned to Ligue 1 from Villarreal, respectively.

Icardi was rewarded with a through to 2024, after scoring 12 goals and assisted two in 20 league appearances in his first season with the Paris club.

Toko-Ekambi was able to prove his worth with two goals and one assist in eight games. Les Gones rewarded him with a four-year deal after joining the club during the winter transfer.

In a related development, Jean-Philippe Krasso will be an AS Saint-Etienne player from July 1 after securing a move from french amateur club, Espinal.

The transfer of the striker to the Ligue 1 club has been described as a gamble because Krasso, who busted into the limelight with Epinal, is not a proven player.

Krasso, whose contracts with Espinal ends in June, started his career with the FC Lorient youth academy before becoming a mainstay in Epinal.

Les Verts snapped him up on a three-year deal after scoring eight goals in the 2019-20 French Cup, which included three against LOSC Lille and ASSE.
