All I would say is if there was a team I did wanna play for that wasn’t the Warriors, that would be Charlotte Hornets – Steph Curry

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors have shared a great relationship over the years. In fact, it is hard to imagine for the NBA fans to see Curry not don the Dubs jersey. Curry has won four NBA rings in his glorious career with the Golden State Warriors and he has always maintained a very close bond with the owners, team management, teammates, and fans.

Curry revealed that if ever he wanted to play for another NBA team other than the Golden State Warriors, it would be Charlotte Hornets. The talisman opined that he is not breaking any news regarding his future at GSW and wants to play his swansong for the Dubs.

“I always said I wanted to finish my career at Golden State because of how much it means to me,” Curry said as quoted by Charlotte Observer. “The experiences and the teammates and the journey that we’ve been on. People always say, ‘Do you wanna play one year for the Hornets and come back?'”

“No, no, I’m not breaking any news,” Curry said. “I’m not making any promises. All I would say is if there was a team I did wanna play for that wasn’t the Warriors, that would be it.”

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old is from Akron Ohio but grew up in Charlotte. Curry played his high school Basketball for Charlotte Christian School and came up in the ranks.

“I am from Charlotte. Best 21 years of my life spent here,” Curry said. “And I carry that with me wherever I go. So to have the key to the city; it means so much to me and my family.”

Curry was recently honored by Davidson’s college as he was inducted in the hall of fame and the college also retired his No. 30 jersey, which means no other player will ever wear the same number.

“This is an absolutely amazing day and an amazing moment for myself and my family,” Curry said. “The best decision I ever made was to come to Davidson College and pursue an education. Join an amazing community and, most importantly, play for an amazing man who has built this program for what it is in coach (Bob) McKillop.”
