Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has showered praise on Andrew Wiggins after the youngster delivered for the team against LA Clippers. Wiggins scored season-best 31 points as the Dubs defeated the Los Angeles Clippers by 124-107 on Wednesday night.
Wiggins scored back-to-back three-pointers during the third quarter at a crucial junction of the match to give the lead to his team. The second quarter turned out to be the match-changing though as GSW took it by 34-18.
On the other hand, Curry added 22 points, nine assists, and six rebounds whereas Klay Thompson contributed eight points. However, the bulk of the scoring was done by Andrew Wiggins.
“Steph’s going to be Steph, always,” Wiggins said as quoted by AP. “Tonight the ball was moving and found a lot of people, made some shots.”
“Wiggins is shooting the lights out. He’s just been so consistent from the field and from the 3-point line,” coach Steve Kerr said. “You see how comfortable he is in our offense, constantly slipping to the rim.”
On the other hand, LA Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue isn’t sure when Leonard Kawhi will return to action.
“Woke up with some soreness in his ankle. Saw the play, it was a little more than we thought,” Lue said. “But he’s OK, feeling better, getting better. So we don’t know a timetable right now though.”
Meanwhile, GSW now has a 9-10 record and they bounced back in style after losing their previous match against New Orleans Pelicans. Steve Kerr’s team has won three out of their last four matches and they are currently in 11th position in the Western Conference standings.
The Dubs will next take on Utah Jazz on Friday night.
