Reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is a subject of doubt for the Milwaukee Bucks ahead of their game 5 in the series with Miami Heats.
Giannis aggravated his strained right ankle during game 4 and left the game mid-way, and now the Bucks are not sure of his availability for game 5 until hours before tip-off.
Antetokounmpo was seen in practice on Monday wearing a protective boot on his ankle, and his manager shares an optimism of him playing on Tuesday in the game 5.
Despite being limited to 11 minutes, Giannis scored 19 points in game 4 as the Bucks made the series 3-1 winning the game with 118 to 115 points in overtime.
The NBA MVP was not overstretched in training on Monday as the team expect a tough game 5 where the Miami Heats will be hoping to amend their loss on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, Miami Heat are preparing for his presence irrespective, as they expect a desperate approach by the Bucks in the game.
“We anticipate him playing, being ready to go, being the player that he is, We’ve got to be able to adjust with him and adjust better without him. They’re not going to come in with a flat game, They’re desperate, and they’re going to play like it.” Heat player Andre Iguodala said on NBA.
Giannis, who is the reigning NBA MVP, has also been nominated for the MVP again and as well as the NBA Most Defensive player of the season.
Meanwhile, the Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations Kiki VanDeWeghe has announced a 25,000 dollars fine on Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverly for verbally abusing a game official.
The incidence occurred on September 5 in the Lakers 110 to 101 points loss to Denver Nuggets in the fourth quarter.
