David Griffin gives a public statement clearing Zion Williamson’s future at the New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson has been all over the headlines in recent months due to the Moriah Mills fiasco. Mills has threatened Williamson of leaking their sex tape and has already shared their private chats. Ever since the incident, the talented youngster has found himself in many trade rumours. He even posted a cryptic Instagram story which has raised a lot of concern about the basketball star’s mental state.

His Instagram story had song lyrics which has mentions harbouring suicidal thoughts.

While the entire situation needs more care and maturity, New Orleans Pelicans vice president David Griffin has ruled out trading the superstar to any other team and feels that he is someone with so much popularity that anything that comes out on media will get everyone talking.

“We never had a single (trade) conversation that Zion was part of. I would say that it’s as good as it’s ever been (relationship w/Pels). I think what’s unfortunate is that he’s a name that generates clicks no matter what the link says.”

He wants the media to be more accountable as he feels that whatever Zion does is talked about just because it brings clicks. “Zion puts on his socks. People click on that. So it makes it really easy for people to manufacture rumors around him, because they don’t have to have any actual credibility behind what they say to generate clicks,” Griffin added.

Griffin’s public statement has cleared the air regarding Zion’s trade rumours. However, it has also taken away the attention from Zion’s cryptic Instagram post which needs more eyes. The player is not in a great mental state given the situation and should take it slow.

However, in the past, he has shared his appreciation for The Notorious B.I.G’s 1994 album ‘Ready to Die”. But given the recent circumstances, it is very hard to tell just from his Instagram stories.

Zion shared in the past how the album has helped him settle his mindset and resolve in the game. “I’ve learned to appreciate this process. I can never really put it into words with all the adversity and all the cons, but for me, The Notorious B.I.G. album, Ready To Die, that album lyrically, how he talked about (the) stress (of) what he was dealing with, just feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders and you feel like you’re standing alone. That album really helped me shift my mindset and just find true resolve in the game,” he stated.

NBA fans are in deep concern over the Pelicans superstar, especially after his Instagram post.
