“Do your job,” LeBron James wants his Los Angeles Lakers teammates to step up amid their difficult East Coast trip

Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are halfway through their six-game away run. They started with a brilliant double-overtime win over the Golden State Warriors before losing the next two games against the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks.

The Lakers will face the in-form Boston Celtics followed by a clash against the New York Knicks. If the Lakers don’t step up they can be on a four-game losing streak. Therefore it is crucial for Darvin Ham and his men if they aim to move up the ladder in the Western Conference.

After the loss against the Hawks, LeBron was asked if he had anything to say to his teammates. The four-time MVP replied, “I don’t have any message for my teammates. ‘Just go out and do your job.’”

After their exceptional win against the Warriors, they have lost two games by an average of 16 points. They came out sluggish against the Rockets and the Hawks and couldn’t keep up with their opponents in intensity. Many people feel that they are still reliving the exciting win that they secured against the Warriors.

Recently, Darvin Ham called out LeBron James and the roster for their lack of effort and focus in the first half against the Rockets. They did try to get back and hustle but the lead was too much and they eventually lost the game. They also lost the next game against the Atlanta Hawks.

LeBron and team cannot repeat the same mistake against the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. Boston are 21-2 at the TD Garden this season and it will be very tough for the Lakers to beat the Celtics at Boston. Similarly, the Knicks are 17-5 at the Madison Square Garden this season. They will also pose a massive challenge for the Lakers.

LeBron and the Lakers will have to be at their best to have any chance to win their next two games as they aim to fight back in the ongoing NBA season.

The Lakers should start by improving their rebounding which has been pretty poor in the last two games. They should improve on their rebounding in their upcoming games against Celtics and the Knicks.
