Former Celtics legend Kevin Garnett feels that the Golden State Warriors won’t make it to the 2024 NBA Playoffs

The Golden State Warriors have had a slow start to the NBA season and looking at their veteran squad, former Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett does not feel that the Warriors will be making the 2024 NBA playoffs.

The Warriors have struggled as they are outside the play-in contention in 11th place in the Western Conference. After 20 games, they have a poor 9-11 record as they lost 10 out of their last 14 games. They have blown out 24-point and 22-point leads to the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers over the past week.

While some people are very optimistic regarding the Warriors and the players that they have on their roster, Garnett is convinced that he has seen enough of this veteran team. During a recent episode of “KG Certified,” the former MVP told his co-host Paul Pierce that the Warriors ain’t going to make it to the 2024 playoffs.

“This team is not a playoff team. At all,” Garnett said.

When asked it he at least sees them in the play-in contention, Garnett dismissed the thought and reasoned how teams in the West are ever improving. “No, not at all,” Garnett said. “I’m just watching teams get better than them.”

The Warriors have struggled this season big time as they have not even been above average on either ends of the court. They are 15th in the offensive rating in the league while being 17th on the defensive side of things.

They are massively over-dependent on their superstar point guard Stephen Curry to bail them out of crunch situations. While he is giving his best and averaging 29.1 points per game, the next best Warrior player is Klay Thompson averaging 15.7 points per game.

“He’s at a [point] where he’s here and everybody else on his team is dramatically below everything,” Garnett said of Curry.

The 2022 NBA Champions will hope to figure things out quickly as they will desperately hope to make it to the 2024 NBA playoffs. The Warriors will host the struggling Portland Trail Blazers next on Wednesday and it can be a glorious opportunity for them to get back to winning ways.
