Former Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal highlights why Warriors talisman Steph Curry is his favourite player in the NBA currently

Just like Lionel Messi is football, Stephen Curry also can attract fans with his stunning craft. The Chef with his languid elegance is class apart from the NBA stars during his time. The Golden State Warriors man has revolutionized the game totally and will easily go down as one of the best players to ever grace the NBA.

While he is one of the most popular faces in the league, he has also received a lot of flak for various reasons. But every time people have raised questions, Curry has answered them on the court with his brilliant long-range shooting and playmaking skills.  It is really hard to match Steph’s level of shooting accuracy and consistency.

Recently former NBA star and current analyst Shaquille O’Neal admitted that Stephe Curry is his favourite player in the league. The 34-year-old suffered a thumb injury and ever since coming back from it he received a lot of flak as the Warriors struggled to get going. However this seaosn he has replicated his exceptional form from last season and is once again performing at an MVP level. But the only difference this season is that the Warriors are performing really well. Steve Kerr’s men are at the summit of the Western Conference with a fantastic record of 15-2. While the team has brought in some experienced players to get the balance right, Curry has been in the middle of everything at the franchise and is probably one of the biggest reasons for their success this season.

Recently Shaq opened up on how he was not a Curry fan earlier but the Warriors talisman won him over with his exceptional class and consistency. Not only Curry is a good shooter, but he is also a trend setter who introduced the NBA to long-range shots and changed the game completely. Shaq highlights how he has never seen someone remotely close to the Chef.

Shaq said: “The reason why Steph is my favourite player is because I have never seen anybody do it like he does. A lot of people think I am a hater or whatever, but its not that I’m a hater. It’s just that I have seen real greatness. If you not equal or above that, you get no props from me. Steph Curry, I’ve never seen it.” He continued, saying, “I would actually go pay to see him. And the more I hate on him, the more he shuts me up.”

It is not easy to overturn Shaq’s choice and Stephe Curry has done that with his exceptional skill set and ability to lead the Warriors to greater heights.
