Former Nets Star Point Guard Kenny Anderson: “James Harden is NOT a good fit”

The Brooklyn Nets could pair Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and James Harden together. Harden wants to be traded by the Rockets and he would like to join the Nets but it hasn’t happened… at least not yet.

“I’m a big Net fan so I don’t like people bringing that up with James Harden,” former Nets star point guard Kenny Anderson on the Heavy Live With ‘Scoop B’ Show.

“He’s an awesome player, but NOT a good fit for the Brooklyn Nets. So you know; they got Kyrie, they got Kevin Durant and let’s build around those two guys and let out young guys grow with [Spencer] Dinwiddie there, [Caris] LeVert; we got a good team and a young nucleus. Steve Nash is a rookie coach; first year… let him build and I think we’re gonna be good this year coming up. But with Harden, he would’ve changed all of that a little bit. I really believe that.”

ESPN analyst Jay Williams appeared on ESPN New York’s Bart and Hahn and this is what he said when asked if Harden will still be with the Nets in the 2020-21 season.

“There’s a high probability of that. I think there’s a high probability,” Williams explined. “Houston’s gonna have a really interesting situation. How long can you hold onto a disgruntled employee, who is a star, who is going to have a microphone in their face after [every game]? …

James Harden is going to be open and critical about how he doesn’t wanna be there. When you’re a star player is gonna be doing that, you as a franchise — if he starts doing that, teams are gonna be like, ‘Well, he doesn’t wanna be there.’ It’s going to make you lose the value in what you can get in return ’cause teams know that your star player doesn’t wanna be there. You can’t hold him hostage.”
