Fury Confirms Trilogy Fight With Chisora Holding In December

After a botched attempt at setting up a WBC heavyweight fixture with former heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, it seems that Tyson Fury would be fighting in December as planned, but with a different fighter. The Gypsy King has confirmed that he would be facing Derek Chisora on December 3 as both fighters battle each other for the third time. The fight is expected to hope at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Fury, who remains undefeated, has not fought since beating Dillian Whyte back in April. He announced his ‘retirement’ from the sport, although he did not surrender his title. He came out of retirement following Oleksandr Usyk’s victory over Anthony Joshua for the second time.

Chisora is entering this fight a few months after defeating Kubrat Pulev, which he won the vacant WBA International heavyweight title for. With three losses in his last five fights, Chisora is not like the undefeated Fury.

Fury and Chisora have fought twice in 2011 and 2014, and Fury emerged victorious both times. The trilogy fight against Chisora would be Fury’s second trilogy battle after beating Deontay Wilder two times out of their three meetings.

Some months ago, Fury revealed that he was no longer interested in being friends with Chisora after he accused Chisora of betting against him. Having this fight seems like a good way to ‘settle’ the issues between the two fighters.

Since it is a championship bout, Chisora stands to become the new WBC heavyweight champion if he manages to defeat Fury. It would also mean Fury’s first professional loss. This is why the fight is so important. On the other hand, Fury winning means he may face Usyk next in a match that would see the first unified heavyweight champion emerge.
