Lakers star Anthony Davis unfazed by low rankings, feels that they can beat anyone in the playoffs

The reigning NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers have been marred by injuries this season and therefore they are on a three-game losing streak. The Lakers lost back to back matches against Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks and now if they do not turn their fortune they may very well slip down to the seventh spot in the Western Conference.

One positive sign for Frank Vogel’s men is that Anthony Davis is back after a spell on the sidelines. Although the 28-year-old is still getting restricted minutes as Vogel would like to ease him a bit on the court before leading the charge again for the Lakers.

With the Lakers’ current form there are a lot of questions on how they will return and where they will finish and whom they will face in the playoffs. However, Davis is unfazed by all the concerns as he feels that the reigning champions are capable of turning it around and can beat anyone in the league in the playoffs.

The 8 times NBA All-Star denied that the current table puts the Lakers in a bad position as they may face top-performing teams like the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers or even the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. He also shared his experience of off-court coaching during his injury spell.

AD said, “No matter where we fall, we’re capable of still winning the championship. Umm, injury played a part for us this season. But, we always say, it just makes a lot sweeter at the end to go through something like this. So, put us up against anyone, I don’t think no one wants to see us [indiscernible]. Like I said, I know the type of team we have. I know what we can do. I think we’re capable of beating anyone in a seven-game series.”

Davis is confident of this unit and they do have the players to step up when needed and that is what makes the Lakers a Championship contender for this season. The Purple and Gold will face the Orlando Magic next and that should be an easy encounter for Frank Vogel’s men as they need to go on a winning streak to improve their rankings ahead of the playoffs.
