Lauri Markkanen powered Utah to one of the most dramatic finishes of the season, dropping 47 points as the Jazz edged the Chicago Bulls 150-147 in a double-overtime shootout on Sunday night in Salt Lake City. Keyonte George delivered the decisive moment, draining a game-winning three with 0.8 seconds on the clock to cap his 33-point performance.
Markkanen, who recorded his second straight 40-point outing, led Utah’s late push. Isaiah Collier added 16 points and nine assists off the bench, while Jusuf Nurkic controlled the glass with 14 rebounds. The Bulls kept pace behind Josh Giddey’s triple-double of 26 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds, and a strong return from Coby White. Making his season debut after a calf strain, White scored 27 points and went a perfect 14-for-14 at the free-throw line.
Elsewhere, San Antonio took down Sacramento 123-110, with De’Aaron Fox posting 28 points and 11 assists against his former team. The Spurs played without Victor Wembanyama, who missed his first game of the season due to left calf tightness, but still stretched a halftime lead into a comfortable win. Harrison Barnes contributed 20 points, while the Kings fell to their sixth straight defeat despite 27 points from DeMar DeRozan.
In Dallas, Daniel Gafford’s late-game presence sealed a 138-133 overtime victory over the Trail Blazers. Gafford, easing back from an ankle issue, scored 20 points, including key baskets in the final seconds. Cooper Flagg and P.J. Washington led the Mavericks with 21 points apiece. Portland’s Shaedon Sharpe erupted for 36 points but went scoreless in the closing minutes after Deni Avdija — who had 29 — fouled out.
Houston added another overtime win to the night’s list, beating Orlando 117-113. Kevin Durant’s 35 points and Alperen Sengun’s 30-point, 12-rebound display carried the Rockets, who dominated the boards 60-38. Franz Wagner scored 29 for the Magic, who played without Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs due to groin injuries.
Boston held off a late Clippers push for a 121-118 victory as Jaylen Brown scored 33 and Payton Pritchard added 30, including eight three-pointers. In Washington, Brooklyn snapped a four-game skid with a 129-106 win behind Michael Porter Jr.’s season-high 34 points.
Golden State rolled past New Orleans 124-106, sparked by Moses Moody’s record-tying seven threes in the first quarter, while Atlanta closed the night with a stunning 124-122 comeback in Phoenix, erasing a 22-point deficit behind Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s 26 points and a dominant fourth quarter.
