Miami Heat superstar Bam Adebayo feels frustrated with the delay in Damian Lillard’s trade

Miami Heat superstar Bam Adebayo is losing patience as Damian Lillard’s move from Portland Trail Blazers to the Heat is still stuck. With all the reported negotiations nothing seems to be happening from both parties and Adebayo feels that the waiting game is going for too long.

The Heat were exceptional last season as they reached the NBA Finals after finishing eighth in the NBA Eastern Conference. So fans are excited to see what Damian Lillard will bring to this team.

Ever since the trade request began it gained a lot of media coverage. The NBA even issues a statement that Lillard should not force him to be traded to only one particular team.

“We have advised Goodwin and Lillard that any future comments made privately to teams or publicly, suggesting Lillard will not fully perform the services called for under his player contract in the event of a trade will subject Lillard to discipline by the NBA. We also have advised the Players Association that any similar comments by players or their agents will be subject to discipline going forward,” NBA said in the memo.

The Heat centre understands that it is a business aspect of the NBA and both parties need to be in sync to make it happen. But with the recent delays and no end in sight, he is uncertain even if the deal will go through or not.

“I don’t know what’s about to happen. The biggest thing is it’s business,” Adebayo said. “Everybody wants it to make sense … obviously, the other side wants it to make sense too. I feel like it’s just a waiting game until they make an agreement, if or when it does happen,” he added.

Adebayo and Lillard were together playing for USA’s Tokyo Olympics and there they got to know each other and became good friends. The Heat superstar feels that there are a lot of similarities between the two players.

“I think it’s just demeanour. How (Lillard) walks, how he talks, how he presents himself, we have a lot of similar characteristics,” said Adebayo. “Dame isn’t the loudest person, I’m not the loudest person. We’re two down-to-earth people that gelled well in the Olympics.”

Both the players played really well and USA won the gold medal beating France in the finals. It was their 16th title at the Summer Games.

Coming back to Lillard, the point guard has been with the Portland Trail Blazers for 11 seasons and is finally frustrated with their mediocrity. Therefore he wants to join the Heat to win the NBA Championship. Lillard’s career average is 25.2 points, 6.7 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game.
