NBA analyst Marc J. Spears feels Stephen Curry’s impact to the game is comparable to that of Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird & Tim Duncnn they saw potential, never in their wildest dreams did they think of having a player who would be such a great in the NBA. Curry is simply a global ambassador who changed the game of basketball on a global scale and brought it more to the masses.
The Baby Faced Assassin won his fourth NBA Championship last season as the Warriors defeated the Celtics in the Finals and he bagged his first Finals MVP award after a superb performance in the finals against a spirited Celtics side.
Paying respect to Curry’s legacy ESPN’s Marc J. Spears summed up how Curry will be at the level of Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Larry Bird, etc kind of levels once he decides to call time to his illustrious career with the Warriors. “I think he’s one of them people like Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, that plays an entire career and gets whatever.” Spears said.
Spears then added on how he thinks Curry will finish his career with the Warriors and there will be a lot of tears from the Warriors fans. He also called him the revered athlete ever. He feels that the legacy will go on and Oakland and Bay Arena will remember him for decades to come. “I think when Curry is in his last days, there will be a lot of tears from Warriors fans. He is, to me, the most revered athlete ever… I see him finishing his career there. I see him living in the Bay (Area). And I see him impacting Oakland for many decades to come,” Spears added on.
However, given how competitive Curry is, he is not thinking about retirement right now. Rather he is focused on defending the crown in the upcoming season with several teams bringing in top players to iron out their weaknesses in the roster for the big season coming up. The Warriors have also lost a couple of players but they do have some talented youngsters to cover up if needed.
